Maningi Youth Soccer Academy produced a commanding performance at Chisamba Grounds, brushing aside home side Getty Queens 4–0 in an entertaining encounter highlighted by two braces.
Salphina Chibhatani Sibanda set the visitors on their way with a first-half brace, giving Maningi a comfortable advantage before the break. After the interval, the exciting Tanaka “Jetlinda” Nyamakura took centre stage, scoring twice to complete a convincing victory for the rebuilding academy.
Maningi’s football was built around their familiar passing game, with veteran Talent Bizeki leading by example and helping the visitors dictate the tempo. The hardworking Shiela Chiwara combined brilliantly with Lyn Chamisa and Chiedza, creating problems for the Getty Queens defence.
At the back, captain Yolanda “Mashefu” Shuhwa stood firm, ensuring that there were no trespassers in the Maningi danger area. She formed a formidable partnership with Yeyani “The Tollgate”, who helped keep the home side firmly locked out.
The visitors’ attacking movement was further enhanced by the overlapping Symbathy, who provided the assist for Tanaka’s second-half goal. Substitute Ropafadzo Mushonga also made an immediate impact after coming on, contributing to Maningi’s lively second-half display.
Head coach Maxwell Shumba Musana praised his charges for sticking to the game plan. The result was more than just a win for the rebuilding Maningi Youth Soccer Academy — it was a statement of intent. With disciplined defending, purposeful passing and clinical finishing, the visitors enjoyed a sweet afternoon at Chisamba.
